ABOUT
Daphna Awadish Golan is an animation filmmaker and illustrator living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She specializes in creating animated documentaries and works as an independent illustrator and animator.
Her latest film, 'Swimming With Wings,' is quietly gaining recognition at numerous international film festivals and has been honored with prestigious awards such as the Grand Prix du Jury at the Meknes International Animation Film Festival in Morocco and the ECFA Documentary Film Award at the Olympia International Film Festival.
Her short films 'Journey Birds' and 'Bear with Me' have also been featured in many international festivals, receiving accolades such as the Best Animation Award at the Jerusalem Film Festival and the Fantastic Award at the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film.
Having lived in different countries herself, Daphna explores the meaning of 'home' in her work, using mixed media to portray personal narratives in a unique and intimate manner.
Daphna graduated from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design (BA) and St. Joost Master Institute of Visual Cultures (MA). She has also been a lecturer in the animation department of the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam.
