ABOUT
Daphna Awadish is an Israeli filmmaker and illustrator living in Amsterdam. She specializes in creating animated documentaries and works as an independent illustrator and animator.
Her short films, "Journey Birds" and "Bear with Me," have won awards at international festivals, such as the Best Animation Award at the Jerusalem Film Festival, the Fantastic Award at the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film, and the European Values Award at AnimaSyros International Animation Festival.
Having lived in different countries herself, Daphna explores the meaning of 'home' in her work and just finished her new animated documentary Swimming With Wings. She uses mixed media to portray personal narratives in a unique and intimate manner.
Daphna holds degrees from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design (BA) and the St. Joost Master Institute of Visual Cultures (MA). She was a lecturer at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam.
